Nothing yet

crying.gifA Crate & Barrel was announced for a fancy new center next to Kenwood mall - a let down if you ask me. I hope that wasn’t a bait and a switch by my sources. (I’d put up a link but that’s hot fresh news that I can’t seem to find online yet.)

I’m still holding out hope that my IKEA sources are right and we’ll hear something this week, if not today. They were pretty specific though. The Crate & Barrel deal could have put the kabosh on it for a couple days, no one wants to share the limelight. Of course, I could have also been played, always a possibility, but I wasn’t the only one getting this info, and not by the same people. So it’s really anyone’s guess, I suppose.

When it happens, if it happens, I’ll be here to pop the champagne.

All I know for sure is that it better not come NEXT week because I go on vacation to a largely computer free area at a campground (oddly enough near the Pittsburgh store). I can get to a computer if I have to though. And here I wasn’t gonna bring the laptop.

Meanwhile while we’re all crying in our decidely non-swedish beers, Michigan is in love with IKEA and all is peachy keen. Damn them.

I can’t wait for an Ohio store. I’m taking my first IKEA trip and I need urgent advice! Pittsburgh or Canton? Both stores are equidistant from Columbus.

I was told that Pittsburgh is smaller — in fact the smallest in the country. So, originally, I planned to go to the new store in Canton. However, every time I try to check and see if they have something in stock, they seem to be out, probably because Canton’s new and still hot and very busy. On the other hand Pittsburgh may be better stocked since it’s less trafficked — but its smaller.

    Please help! I’m so conflicted.

While I love some C&B, it’s not the same as IKEA. Hope they make the announcement this week. Yesterday felt like Christmas morning, but Santa didn’t leave us any presents. :-(
