Before I head to the store again…
Third time this week mind you, tee hee, I thought I’d post this little story on WVXU about myself and my pal Bev (See I said your name, you said I never say it!). He found us lured by our playing the IKEA song by Johnathan Coutlon (on the Smoking Monkey album near the bottom). he was one of the more fun and interested reporters we talked to. (Hint:The TV ones were the worst)

The Enquirer has a HUGE themed page of articles it’s done about the store.
And I’m in the graphic banner TWICE. Well actually one shot of ME and a shot of my license plate. If you missed any local coverage , you’ll prolly find it here.

I talked with them a week or so ago, as did a few other OHIKEA readers in Columbus… read it here.

I’m still stunned reporters want to talk to me.
I’m in the Feb 2008 issue of STORES magazine talking about IKEA (go to page 26) , of course.
(They won’t let me use the screen grab I had here, so I’ve removed it. Pout.)

After I posted the last entry this morning I went out to buy a copy for the file cabinet.
I scared the girl at the counter. She scolded me when I shouted "oh my god!" when I saw my face was staring back at me from the stack. Front page article!
I asked her what she would say to see HER picture on the front page when she wasn't expecting it to be there. The black dude checking out asked "What, you wanted by the police or something?"
That made us laugh really hard on the way out of town.
Welcome to all the new readers, by the way, wether you come back or fly by out of curiosity.

The latest article featuring OHIKEA is on newstands today. I did a big interview with her a couple weeks ago, and now it's out. Woo hoo!
Yeah that's a pic of me, don't get used to it.

Blog press
Blog media this time:
Fast Company Blog mention.
Strategic Public Relations: Ikea Fan Blog Helps Bring Store to Ohio - Interview.
I do not belive this blog moved IKEA to locate a store here, as he credits me for, there are FAR too many requirements for that and a fat blogger fangirl ain’t on that list. If anything I maybe showed Ohio has a fanatical interest despite being without it’s own store. And only that, maybe.

A few days old, but it has a site mention, so it’s just housekeeping.
It’s official: IKEA to build Ohio store in West Chester
Filed under FPO in the News | Subscribe via Email | Comment (0)It’s Official!
I really can’t take any credit for this, I just wanted to be a conduit of gossip of IKEA coming to Ohio. Gossip came to me. I called people, I chased leads… but that’s all I did. We didn’t do any petitions, or anything, we were just here waiting with baited breath. Noisy enough for IKEA to pay attention to us, but no so much we caused them to do anything they were’nt already thinking of. Nosey but harmless.
Thanks to all of you for joining on my silly bandwagon.
So, What’s next? This blog will monitor construction and opening. Then after that, it will serve as a fan blog showing room makeovers, deals, sales and the like. Ohikea has only just begun!
